TYPE EXPERIMENT: 東京少女

Since my college was in New York, I designed mostly in English, and found myself desiring a deeper understanding and better control of Chinese typography. To have a more solid foundation, I bought an online course from one of Taiwan’s most well-known type foundries, justfont.

Using the lessons that I learned from the course, I designed these four characters from scratch. Many changes were made to the initial sketch to achieve better consistency, balance, and distinct personality.
